Farm Day
The season is well under-way and things are busy busy with processing in full-swing and the farmers market every weekend. We have a few new calves coming in this morning, chicks coming on Thursday, and more ducklings coming next week!
We are finally getting it together to have a farm-day/open farm. It won’t be anything fancy, but for those who would like to come and see the farm and meet the animals, we are going to have June 27th as a day where we will do some tours and would welcome those interested to come by and see the farm. We will be at our original farm just outside Marshall (directions on the contact page) in the morning (from 9 am until about 11) and then for those who want to see the cattle and broiler chickens we will drive out to the other farm (about 30 miles away) and you can follow us and we’ll do a tour of that farm. We will be out there from about noon to 2 pm. Please contact us if you want directions to that farm to meet us there (andrea@fallingskyfarm.com). The Marshall farm has the pigs, ducks, laying hens, horses, and we will have a few of the cattle there being finished. The other farm has the broiler chickens and the majority of the cattle.
Please make sure to bring water/drinks with you. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch or snacks if you like. We do have a picnic table at the Marshall farm, and it isn’t far to the Buffalo river for those wanting to see the farm and then head to the river for a picnic/swim. Serenity Farm Bakery is located in Leslie (between the two farms) and they have snack foods and usually have a lunch special (soup/sandwich) at their location along Hwy 65.
We would appreciate if you would RSVP. Just email me at Andrea@fallingskyfarm.com and let us know how many people you plan on brining.
For those interested we will have beef, chicken and duck available for purchase, and possibly some eggs as well. Our freezers are all at the Marshall farm, so plan accordingly if you do want to buy and meat or eggs while you are here.
Wishing you all a wonderful June and we hope to see many of you this summer!
